I went to the opening of the new show last thursday at 2701 and I was less than impressed. Upon arriving at the show I couldnt help but notice there was no signage informing the viewer of what they were looking at. There was a series of paintings which I assume were oils that had a lot of geometric designs with a few observational objects thrown in. The problem was that they had an unfinished look to them, some of the lines were out of perspective and the level of focus involved appeared half finished. One work stood out above the rest, it was a beautifully colored blue and purple geometric painting which really impressed me with the technique... until I noticed that it was a digital artwork that had been put on a canvas. Upon researching in my own time I found out the painters name was Jacob Fossum.
